The first-ever Nike Ductal swoosh sign was integrated into this modular bris soleil skin in Miami. Working as the structural and detail engineers for the project, LED hung the entire system from the roof with lateral prop-backs at every intermediate floor. The modules themselves are open-mold casts in Ultra High Performing Concrete, attached by under cut anchors to a hidden substructure. Special attention was given to visually hide the system’s hooks and rails, and give visual primacy to the module and overall assembly. Additional care was given to engineer everything to withstand Florida’s hurricane-force winds.
