Madison Avenue Lobby
The project by KPF architect along Madison Avenue is a redevelopment of an existing office building which adds several feature areas to the facade to emphasize outdoor spaces and terraces. For the terraces and lobby, we designed mega glass panels supported by low-profile moment shoes and slender glass fins to provide uninterrupted light and views in and out of the building. The entrance at the southeast corner is sloped section and triangular in elevation. The challenge here was the long term deflection which required us to make use of stronger lamination materials and stainless steel embeds to interlink glass panels of different sizes so they act together as a single engineered unit.
