Domino Site E

Site E of the Domino development (325 Kent Ave) is a masterpiece by SHoP architects. LED handled all the detail engineering for the rainscreen system, which is clad in copper and zinc perforated panels. Because of the structural weaknesses caused by perforations to the surface, we tested key panels to ensure structural integrity in high wind loads. Engineering the cladding at the bridge was a challenge because of the increased number of factors for calculating wind forces on bridge-like structures. Now finished, the copper panels will rapidly oxidize over time, resembling the color and finish of Miss Liberty in ten years or so.
