Ironically, Emily was terrified of bridges and tall structures as a child. She found the structures beautiful, though, and developed desperate need to understand how they managed to stay upright.
Emily completed both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering focus at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She participated in RPI’s acclaimed Bedford program where she gained first-hand knowledge of architectural practices to better understand the integration structural engineering designs.
Emily has provided structural services for a number of industries including utilities, nuclear structures, and both commercial and residential construction and renovation. Her varied experiences have exposed her to a wide berth of engineering challenges and given her experience using niche skill sets.
In her free time, Emily enjoys dancing, playing piano, and hanging out with her dog – Milo. She is an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and during the spring and summer attends as many Phillies games as possible. She is no longer afraid of bridges or buildings.
