House R

LaufsED provided full structural engineering support to the architects for the design and realization of a new lakefront residence just 45 minutes outside of Berlin. The two-story, 240 m² home is designed without a basement and features a robust reinforced concrete structure combined with KS masonry walls. Due to the unique 3D form of the house the global lateral stability relies on true moment frame. The structural system was carefully coordinated to balance stability with the architectural vision for a modern, light-filled lake house. Photos below courtesy of Deeken Architekten.
